Most of Joseph=s landscape images were made on large format (4" x 5") transparencies. A minor amount of landscape images were made with medium or 35mm formats. All wildlife images were made in the 35mm format. The images contain a wide variety of landscapes in all seasons which include Arizona, Block Island-Rhode Island, California, Colorado, Montana, Illinois, Maine, New Mexico, Utah, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Vermont, New Hampshire and Wyoming. National Parks and Monuments include Bryce, Canyonlands, Canyon de Chelly, Capitol Reef, Glen Canyon Recreation Area, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Grand Teton, Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, Yellowstone, Acadia, Yosemite and Zion. Joseph photographs in many Bureau of Land Management areas, state parks, the Navajo Nation, and Nature Conservancy sites.

Subject matter includes: mountains, canyons, slickrock deserts, prairies, the North Woods, woodlands, rivers, creeks, lakes, oceans, barns, agriculture, farms, lighthouses and many types of wildflowers from various habitats. Joseph also has some wildlife and bird images, as well as portraits of various birds of prey.

Rare Areas:  Joseph has a wide collection of large format transparencies of prairie wildflowers and grasses. This subject matter is photographed by few photographers in large format.

Joseph also has a collection of infrequently photographed Anasazi and ancient Native American archaeological sites and art.
